Pied Oystercatchers will employ tactics like leading, and they certainly don’t want you to know where their nest is, but they are less wary around nests than hoodies. See the video (right).

Pied Oystercatchers often breed on island beaches or estuarine sand spits around river mouths however as with all birds, they can nest in some unusual places!
